At Cabot we know that how you build something changes the essence of how it works. Which is why we’re control freaks who have spared no effort or expense when it comes to each and every phase of the design and manufacture of our 1911 pistols from the ultrasonic testing of the raw materials down to the striping on the finish. And we don’t just do it because we love it. We do it because nobody else can.
That’s because Cabot Guns’ 1911 pistols are made in collaboration with Penn United Technologies, the “MIT of the tool and die industry” and a pioneering manufacturer of precision components for the energy, medical, defense and aerospace industries. Our shared foundation is built on a strong belief in family, God and country, and the philosophy that you should never stop striving to become better at what you do.
And that partnership means we don’t just make precision 1911 pistols. We also make the machines that make them. Which translates to superior quality control and the ability to insure that every process is perfectly repeatable every time. We’re an American gun manufacturer with advanced and proprietary metallurgical expertise. Heck, we even mix our own carbide. And it takes four months to make one of our guns.
Fact is no other gun manufacturer in existence can build what we build the way we build it and the proof is in our tolerances — we guarantee the fit between our frames and slides is exactly 0.001 inches or less. And we can provide documentation with your gun purchase to prove it. Penn United’s proprietary technology often works with tolerances of 20,000,000 of an inch. That’s a hair split into 3 parts and then each part split 10 times again. Yep, we split hairs too.

Yes. We offer the world’s first “post custom.” Our term. Cabot 1911′s are not just another pistol. Never ever. We’ve been living this creation for years. Cabot 1911’s are a new standard of quality never seen before in the gun world.
And, we dare say, a perfect fit. The frame and slide are manufactured to fit more accurately than can be done by the human hand. In fact, the tightness of our fit is 0.001 inches. This is our own long-earned and long-invested proprietary technology. 
With attitude and pedigree. That’s how we approached the manufacture of our 1911 guns along with a refusal to settle for anything less than the best of both. Specifically, we challenged America’s top engineers, machinists and master craftsmen to build the perfect precision handgun from scratch without compromise and what resulted is a superior collection of 1911 pistols made from only the finest of materials, technology and minds that this great country has to offer. 
It’s simple. Every one of our 1911 pistols exceed national match standards right “out of the box.” Less simple is what that took to achieve: The parts on every frame and slide production run are inspected by a coordinate measuring machine to 0.001 of an inch. All the surfaces on the trigger mechanism are hand polished for ultra consistent trigger pull. The feed ramp is hand polished and rounded to facilitate smooth loading. And every model is test fired with randomly selected bullets of multiple weights and grains. Let’s be precise: Wow.
