The South Paw 1911 – A True Left Handed Pistol

The South Paw is a true left-handed 1911. Constructed to the same standards of accuracy as other Cabot pistols left handed shooters can finally experience the classic John Browning design as intended. Not only is the Cabot South Paw completed inverted but offers state-of-the art quality.
The South Paw is precision 45 ACP full size 1911 style pistol constructed from blocks of 4140 billet steel to extreme tolerances. The South Paw, like all Cabot Gun firearms, is designed to exceed National Match accuracy standards right out of the box. We also followed inversion to it’s logical conclusion and reversed the rifling in the barrel so you don’t have to chase your shot. This model is distinguished both aesthetically and mechanically from other 1911 pistols. A new gray-tone color was developed for the pistol and several custom grip options are available. Grip options include California olive wood, box elder and locally-harvested walnut which is milled on the Jones family farm located behind the shop where Cabot Guns are produced.
The South Paw features a new front sight we call the blind sight. Rather than staked from the top of the slide the sight is dovetailed from the from the front of the barrel providing seamless integration into the slide. The sights are available with white dot, tritium or gold dot. A limited number one-hundred South Paw pistols will be produced for 2012.

Yes. We offer the world’s first “post custom.” Our term. Cabot 1911′s are not just another pistol. Never ever. We’ve been living this creation for years. Cabot 1911’s are a new standard of quality never seen before in the gun world.
And, we dare say, a perfect fit. The frame and slide are manufactured to fit more accurately than can be done by the human hand. In fact, the tightness of our fit is 0.001 inches. This is our own long-earned and long-invested proprietary technology.
With attitude and pedigree. That’s how we approached the manufacture of our 1911 guns along with a refusal to settle for anything less than the best of both. Specifically, we challenged America’s top engineers, machinists and master craftsmen to build the perfect precision handgun from scratch without compromise and what resulted is a superior collection of 1911 pistols made from only the finest of materials, technology and minds that this great country has to offer.
It’s simple. Every one of our 1911 pistols exceed national match standards right “out of the box.” Less simple is what that took to achieve: The parts on every frame and slide production run are inspected by a coordinate measuring machine to 0.001 of an inch. All the surfaces on the trigger mechanism are hand polished for ultra consistent trigger pull. The feed ramp is hand polished and rounded to facilitate smooth loading. And every model is test fired with randomly selected bullets of multiple weights and grains. Let’s be precise: Wow.
